Last Friday, January 20, the Catalan Association "Cluster of Language Industries" (Clusterlingua) was constituted. The incorporation was carried out by 9 of the most representative companies in this industry in Catalonia, including iDISC Information Technologies.
The Association was born from a process of strategic reflection of the language industries in Catalonia, promoted by Linguamón and 22@ Barcelona, and concludes with a Strategic Plan of the Cluster. Although the association was launched with a core group of 9 companies, it aims to bring together some 25 associated companies in 2012.
The main objective of the association is to promote the language industry by developing actions to improve the competitiveness of its companies, favoring the development of innovative products and services and their internationalization through national and international projects.
The day of constitution of the association, held on Friday, January 20, 2012, included a first board meeting, in which iDISC representative Pere Grivé was appointed as Secretary, and a presentation of the actions to be carried out during the first quarter. The work plan includes the realization of two working groups focused on the development of innovative projects in digital content and the internationalization of services.
In the coming months, public presentations will also be made to companies in the sector to share the action plan developed.
