iDISC joins ELIA (European Language Industry Association)


iDISC Information Technologies has recently joined ELIA (European Language Industry Association) who is committed to representing the best interests of translation, interpreting and localization companies, or organizations, active in Europe. L’associació te la intenció d’agrupar en un marc comú a les empreses de traducció de tota Europa , incloent-hi però sense limitar-se a les de la Unió Europea, així com d'establir relacions amb professionals i organitzacions afins d’altres parts de tot el món per tal que la veu del sector s’escolti arreu. It also aims to share information, provide a forum for networking and more particularly, promote the concept of ethics and quality standards throughout the industry.

New 2007 version of the iDISC Collaboration Portal


iDISC has launched the new version 2007 of its collaboration portal (iDCP - iDisc Collaboration Portal), which offers centralized project management across broad geographical distances. This version includes new services for increasing consistency and efficiency, as well as a system for tracking and documenting queries, instructions, and quality control. This system lets us take immediate measurements when an unexpected event occurs, assess the parts involved, and record valuable information for tackling products updates and new product releases.

Quality Municipal Websites Award


The website for the Olesa de Montserrat City Hall has won first prize in the 2004 "Quality Municipal Website" awards given out by the Diputació de Barcelona.
This website was developed by iDISC and consists of a dynamic public area and a private area.
The public area relies on optimal functionality and usability features and follows all the ONCE recommendations for access by the disabled.
The private area uses a content manager, also developed by iDISC, which allows each municipal department to update its content independently without having to know any web tools or technologies to do so.

iDISC implements a new electronic invoicing system


iDISC Information Technologies has implemented a new electronic invoicing system for its suppliers and external collaborators. This system allows invoices to be generated automatically, being based on the electronic purchase orders issued and work completed. This saves the supplier the cost of issuing and sending an invoice, as well as saving the cost to iDISC incurred by processing the information. This innovation has been carried out within the framework for the future set out by iDISC, with the aim of optimizing resources, reducing costs and maintaining maximum efficiency at every level.

iDISC lands in Latin America


iDISC has opened a new office in Buenos Aires, to deal with translation and internationalization projects aimed at the Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America. This means another step forward in iDISC's strategy of offering multilingual localization companies a global localization option for all Spanish-speaking countries.
