iDISC Information Technologies takes part in the TAUS User Conference

TAUS User Conference is an annual, non-profit event focused on translation automation, business innovation in localization processes and the promotion of industry collaboration strategies.
As part of the different conferences and workshops which took place from 3 to 6 October at the Hotel Governor in Portland (Oregon), Xavier Maza, Director of Linguistic Services of iDISC Information Technologies, participated as a guest in the work group which aimed to establish clear guidelines on quality standards for the evaluation of the results of postediting of contents translated by machine translation.
Xavier contributed his knowledge and experience of a sector in which iDISC stands out as a pioneering and innovative force in the integration of automatic translation systems and translation processes based on standards with the aim of reducing delivery times, guaranteeing the consistency of translations and substantially reducing costs.
The other 16 guests in this select group of industry experts included representatives of the most important global technology companies such as Microsoft, Adobe, EMC, Oracle, Symantec, and Cisco Systems.
The results of the workshop will be set out in a white paper to be published in early 2011 which will serve as a base for establishing standards in the sector in the future.
The TAUS User Conference is combined with the Annual General Meeting of the TAUS Data Association.
