TAUS User Conference is an annual not-for-profit event that is geared towards translation automation, business innovation in localization processes and promoting collaborative industry strategies.
Among the various conferences and workshops that took place between October 3 and 6 at the Governor Hotel in Portland (Oregon), Xavier Maza, Language Services Manager at iDISC Information Technologies, was invited to attend a workshop geared towards establishing clear guidelines on quality standards for evaluating the post-editing results of content translated with machine translators.
Xavier brought his knowledge and experience in a sector in which iDISC excels as a pioneering and innovative company in the integration of automatic translation systems and standards-based translation processes in order to shorten turnaround times, ensure translation consistency and substantially reduce costs.
The other 16 guests in the select group of industry experts included representatives from leading technology companies such as Microsoft, Adobe, EMC, Oracle, Symantec and Cisco Systems.
The outcome of the workshop will be formalized in a white paper that will be made public in early 2011 and will serve as a basis for establishing future industry standards.
The TAUS User Conference is held in conjunction with the General Meeting of the TAUS Data Association.
